The Kyiv City Administration is going to begin turning off central heating in residential houses on April 11 instead of April 6 as it was planned before.
Kyiv City Administration First Deputy Chairman Anatolii Holubchenko announced this to the press.
«I think a directive [of the city administration] will be issued today to end [the heating season], and disconnection [from heating mains] might begin on the 11th,» he said.
Holubchenko said the average air temperature was 5.5 degrees on April 6, lower than necessary for disconnection of heating.
In March, Kyivans paid 116% for utility services they consumed in February, he reported.
He added that the daily rate of payment for utility services was higher in April compared with the same days in March.
If daily payments continue to come at the same pace, the payment rate for March services will be 114-116% in April, Holubchenko forecasts.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Kyiv intended to turn off heating on April 6.
