President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko must stop commercial construction in Kyiv that destroys historical view of Kyiv. Borys Oliynyk the head of Ukrainian culture fund told yesterday at the press conference, the ForUm's correspondent informed.

“There is total attack of cultural buildings in Kyiv,” he said.

According to him, construction held with permission of Kyiv Mayor’s office, destroys architecture monuments and historical places of the Ukrainian capital.

He informed that he addressed the President to realize total conclusions on constructions and stop high-rise buildings in historical places.As a reminder, Yushchenko signed a decree to forbid construction of historical part of Kyiv. According to this decree, Kyiv state administration, PGO and Cabinet are charged to make corresponding measures.
