The Kyiv City State Administration is planning to build a circus on the left bank before 2012.
This follows from a statement by the administration’s press service, which refers to first deputy chairman of the administration Denys Bass.
According to Bass, the cost of the circus construction totals round UAH 26 million.
During the same period, the administration wants to build a training arena for the Kyiv State College of Variety and Circus Arts, as well as new premises for Vilna Stsena Theater (Free Stage) in Troieschyna.
The two projects are estimated at UAH 15 million and UAH 24 million respectively.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Main Department for Culture and Arts is offering the City Planning Council of Kyiv to construct a new building for the Circus School at 88 Zhylianska Street in Holosiivskyi district.
In February 2005, the Kyiv City State Administration began preparations for the construction of a circus on the left bank of the Dnipro river, at the intersection of the Budivelnykiv and Popudrenka streets.
