The Cabinet of Ministers assigned Construction, architecture and housing and communal services Ministry UAH 4,715 for top-priority events on liquidating consequences of emergency situation on the territory of the Kyiv-Pecherska lavra. It is said about it in the decree of the Cabinet number 94 of March, 13. Ukrayinski Novyny has this text.
According to the decree, Finance Ministry should arrange for expenses at the expense of surplus fund of the national budget. Construction Ministry should approve list of top-priority events during the week and give Economy Ministry, Finance Ministry and the Treasury report on use of means assigned till November, 30 2007.
As a reminder, on October, 25 2006 the Cabinet of Ministers assigned Construction Ministry UAH 1,1 mn for liquidating consequences of fall in the Blizhnie peshchery (Nearest caves) of Kyiv-Pecherska Lavra.
The Kyiv city state administration decided to organize anti-damage events in the Blizhnie peshchery of the National Kyiv-Pechersk historical-cultural reserve in 2006. In May 2005 fall of soil in the amount of 10-15 cu m occurred on the depth of 6 meters in the Blizhnie peshchery.
Kyiv-Pecherska lavra joins the list of world cultural heritage UNESCO. 122 architectural monuments are situated on the territory of lavra. The territory of Lavra is divided into two parts – Verkhnia and Nizhnia (Upper and Lower correspondingly).
Verkhnia Lavra is the National historical-cultural reserve subordinated to the Ministry of Culture, monastery of Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow patriarchy) is in the Nizhnia lavra.
